Srikalahasthi Kalamkari artwork is a traditional artwork that dates back to the Vijayanagara empire. The Srikalahasti style of Kalamkari is one of the two styles of Kalamkari works present in India, with the other being, Machilipatnam style. The usage of pen involves two types, one for drawing made from bamboo, the other for coloring. The coloring process involves usage of only natural dyes which are extracted from flowers and vegetables. All together the entire process involves seventeen steps like block making, cloth treating, printing, washing etc.

Handwoven and handpainted in Srikalahasthi. Dry cleaning recommended, and wash with cold water after the first dry cleaning. The product will have a distinct odour as one of the seventeen steps involved in the production of the saree is to wash it in milk. No Blouse material included
